This Privacy Policy explains how ExamConnect ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use app.examconnect.in ("the Platform").

1. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email, phone number (optional), and password (stored encrypted).
• Usage data: tests attempted, scores, bookmarks, and activity logs.
• Payment data: processed securely by our payment partner Razorpay. We do not store your card/UPI details on our servers.
• Technical data: IP address, browser/device info, and cookies for session and security.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and deliver test content
• To process payments and activate subscriptions/purchases
• To show your results, analytics, and leaderboards
• To send transactional emails (password reset, receipts, reminders)
• To improve the Platform and prevent fraud/abuse

3. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to protect against CSRF attacks. These are required for the Platform to function.

4. Third-party services

We share the minimum data necessary with trusted providers: Razorpay (payments) and our email/hosting providers. They process data under their own privacy policies.

4a. Mobile app (Android)

If you use the ExamConnect Android app, we additionally collect/process:

• Push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — to send you exam announcements and updates. Removed on logout or account deletion.
• Crash reports and diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics) — device model, OS version, and the technical state of the app at the time of a crash, used solely to fix bugs.
• Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics) — anonymised app interaction events (screens viewed, sessions) and device identifiers, used to improve the app.
• Google Sign-In (optional) — if you choose it, we receive your name, email, and Google account identifier to create/link your account. We never see your Google password.

These services are provided by Google LLC and process data under Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data security

We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, signed payment verification, and access controls to protect your data. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard it.

6. Your rights

You can access or update your profile from your account settings. You can permanently delete your account yourself — from the app (Profile → Delete Account) or the website — see Delete Your Account for steps. We retain data only as long as needed for the service and legal obligations.

7. Children

The Platform is intended for exam aspirants. If you are a minor, please use it under the guidance of a parent or guardian.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
